The Pacific Institute will hold its next roundtable dialogue, part of its Talanga Dialogue series, with Professor Martins Paparinskis, a member of the International Law Commission Working Group on Sea-Level Rise.
This open invitation is for academics and students of ANU interested in the legal issues relating to law of the sea, statehood, and human rights. Professor Paparinskis will speak on recent sea level rise related legal developments in the International Law Commission and International Court of Justice (ICJ), where he was lead counsel for Latvia at the ICJ hearing Obligations of States in respect of Climate Change. He is interested to meet and dialogue with colleagues exploring migration, development, law of the sea, climate change in the Pacific, Australia and beyond.
The Talanga Dialogue will take place on 26 March with the public seminar delivered at the ANU Law School on the same day at 12.30pm.
